Winston - male Biak Island Eclectus parrot

Avian Elites breeds top-quality Eclectus and African Grey parrots for informed pet owners. Our Eclectus breeders are certified as pure sub-species by world-renowned Eclectus authorities. We specialize in:

  • Biak Island Eclectus (Eclectus roratus biaki)
  • Solomon Island Eclectus (Eclectus roratus solomonensis)
  • New Guinea Eclectus (Eclectus roratus polychloros),
    aka the Redsided Eclectus Parrot
  • Congo African Grey (Psittacus erithacus erithacus)
  • Timneh African Grey (Psittacus erithacus timneh)

If you are interested in purchasing any of our babies for sale or breeders for sale, please read our Sellers Policy page first, and then contact us. We look forward to hearing from you!

Avian Elites will gladly answer any questions concerning the parrots we breed. If you have questions about other species or sub-species, we will cheerfully refer you to another knowledgeable professional breeder specializing in what you're looking for.

We are happy to show off our fully disease-tested aviary facilities, however, it is the policy of Avian Elites not to allow visitors into the breeding and nursery rooms. Visitors can be a source of contamination and a change in routine can be upsetting. We do this to protect the breeder pairs (who may be laying, sitting or feeding), as well as the babies being hand-fed (due to their immature immune system). This not only protects our birds, but also your future pet!

A NEW POLICY & A WARNING

I am sorry to announce as of January 1, 2010, Avian Elites will no longer be accepting credit cards or Pay Pal for payment. I am very sorry for this action, but we have been scammed by 2 different individuals using credit card methods and through the Pay Pal website. I guess nowadays people are able to use credit cards, receive their items and then they are able to contact their credit card companies to stop the transactions. Thus, they keep their items and their money. So again, I am sorry, but the only way to protect my family is to stop accepting these payment methods altogether. We will still continue to accept postal money orders or cash when baby parrots, breeders or items are picked up.

I am also going to add the two persons names and information of the two that scammed us, so that everyone is aware to be very careful doing business with these folks. If they do this once, I guarantee they will do it again to someone else. If anyone else has been scammed by these people, please contact me as I do have more info that state laws do not allow me to post over the internet about these folks.

1st- Rory Thacker from E. University BLVD Dallas Texas - Rory Thacker purchased a few breeder pairs of parrots, paid using his credit card through Pay Pal. Received the pairs and then contacted his credit card company to cancel the transaction. Rory also uses Delta Airlines shipping into Dallas Fort Worth Airport.

2nd- Mike Byelick website- www.md-savannah-cats.com Email Address- mikeb@mdcigars.com Mike Byelick is from Yuma, Arizona 85367. Mike bought a Lyons Intensive Care Unit off of me, that he paid for by a credit card and through Pay Pal website. He claimed to his credit card company approximately a month after receiving the Intensive Care Unit that he never made the purchase at all. Luckily, I keep all emails for all transactions to prove he is a liar along with UPS shipping documents.

Thank you for everyone's understanding in this matter.

HELP A GREAT CAUSE - GET A TAX BREAK!

The Eclectus Group is sponsoring a conservation project in Indonesia to provide nest logs and reforestation activities to help conserve the rare cornelia eclectus...the one where the female is all red except for her wing primaries. The habitat on Sumba has been restricted to the few forested areas remaining, primarily on hilly sites that are not desirable for farmland. This restriction of habitat has resulted in the eclectus parrots having to compete for nest sites with other eclectus pairs and also with the citron crested cockatoos. Our trip to Sumba allowed us to witness this competition first hand, as two pair of eclectus and one pair of citrons all wanted the same nest hole.

We are able to have nest logs made to order, shipped by boat to Sumba, carted into the forest and hauled up high into the trees for $100. each. So, we are looking for people to donate ANY amount they can to this worthwhile project. Donations are tax deductible because they are handled by a 501 c 3 organization, ABC, Advocates for Bird Conservation. See www.abcbirdconservation.org The ABC site has a link to PayPal. People can use Paypal and send money thru that means, or by check made out to ABC and with accompanying information that it is for the project and mail to ABC % L. Desborough, P O Box 2552, Middleburg, FL 32050. Every bit makes a difference.

In early January we will be sending out letters for use with the IRS that note the donation for tax purposes.

Thank you all for your help.
